Sally Jo (Reitz) McGarrahan, 84, of Robins, Iowa, passed away at the Emery Place in Robins, Iowa.
A Celebration of Life will be offered at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 13, at the New Covenant Bible Church, 3090 N. Center Point Rd., Cedar Rapids, with the Pastor Bob Westfall officiating. Inurnment to follow at the Cedar Memorial-Corridor of Hope.
Sally was born on May 9, 1937, in Anamosa, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Hazel Bernice (James) Reitz. On Dec. 31, 1957, Sally married Blaine Gibson. That marriage granted them two sons, Barry Gibson and Terry Gibson. On July 18, 1982, Sally married James Curtis McGarrahan.
Those left to cherish Sally's memory are her children, Barry Gibson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Terry (Jan Mosbarger) Gibson of Des Moines, Iowa; stepchildren, Dawn (Eric) Wiebe of Palatine, IL and James McGarrahan (Larue Kimble) of Manassas, Va.; grandchildren, Alicia Gibson Rivera of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Blaine Gibson of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Grayson Gibson of Denver, Colo., Gina Gibson of Carroll, Iowa, and Garret Gibson of Des Moines, Iowa, and Sam, Jack and Sydney Wiebe, of Palatine, Ill.; and great-grandchildren, Roman Rivera and Eben Rivera.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Jim McGarrahan and her parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions maybe made in her name to the Alzheimer's Association.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Emery Place for all the love and support they showed Sally while she was in their care.
