Taleb Hussein Yousef Salameh was born Dec. 6, 1984, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, the son of Yousef and Denise (Reins) Salameh. Growing up in this area, he attended schools in the Iowa City school district. He later attended Kirkwood Community College where he excelled on to attend the University of Iowa where he received his BA degree in Mechanical Engineering and was in the process of completing his Masters in this field.
Taleb was a man who loved life, believed with strong conviction on much in this world and acted with passion in his beliefs. From playing soccer with vigor for the past 18 years, pushing to the limits his quest of power over machines from dirt bikes, four wheelers, motorcycles and cars. He was extremely gifted with knowledge and was like a sponge soaking up more and more. It would be hard to find someone who was more animate as an activist about civil and human rights. He could figure out, fix it and move on to the next challenge with anything mechanical. But most of all, he was a man that loved his family, believed in his family and was there for anyone of them anytime. Taleb so looked forward to their Sunday evening dinners, where everyone was there at Mom's!
His family includes his daughter, Aria Salameh; mother, Denise Salameh; father, Yousef Salameh; sisters, Aisha Salameh and Alia Salameh; brother, Tarik Salameh; and his grandparents, Diane and Donald Reins.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Taleb's family and his services.
