Sedigheh Pary (Hendessi) Weber, 87, of Coralville, Iowa, died peacefully after a short illness on Friday, April 25, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 PM, Friday, May 2, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, prior to the Mass. Private family committal services will be held at Riverside Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the St. Thomas More Building Fund.
Pary was born on March 31, 1938 in Tehran, Iran, to Mochul and Mahmood Hendessi. She graduated high school in Iran in 1956. In 1959 she came to the United States to attend college at Northeast Missouri State University. She graduated in 1963 with degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics.
On September 3, 1966 she married John Thomas Weber at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Iowa City.
Pary was a medical research scientist and spent the majority of her career working in Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa. She was a member of St. Thomas More Church in Coralville. Most of all, Pary loved, enjoyed, and was very proud of her family. She loved attending Hawkeye sporting events, going to Hancher, traveling, hosting many wonderful gatherings with friends and family, cooking, and knitting.
Pary is survived by her husband of 58 years, John Weber, her two children, Mina (Jeremy) Bargiel of Glen Ellyn, IL and Monique (Doug) Moore of Iowa City. Five grandchildren, Ben Moore of Iowa City, Olivia (Eian) Countryman of Minnesota, Anna Moore of Iowa City, Julia Bargiel of Illinois, Andrew Bargiel of Illinois, and one brother, Hassan Hendessi of Iran.
Pary was preceded in death by her father, Mahmood, her mother, Mochul, her brothers, Hossain and Ali, and her sisters, Mansureh and Shamsi.
