Ryan Meade Sleichter
RYAN MEADE SLEICHTER
Coralville
Ryan Meade Sleichter, 36, passed away in Coralville on April 7, 2016.
He was born in Englewood, Colo., on July 5, 1979, and lived most of his life in San Juan Capistrano and Los Angeles.
Our beloved Ryan was an inspiration to all who were lucky enough to call him family or friend.
A talented musician and songwriter, beautiful artist, and soulful poet – quick to compose a moving melody or offer a profound insight into love and life, whether its beauty or complexity. He was known by his nieces and nephew as "Best Ryan," a term they coined themselves from their deep admiration for his compassion, love and playful nature. Rarely will one encounter a soul more genuine, caring, gentle and wise than Ryan. He was, and is, dearly loved. May God's grace bless him and those whose hearts are left with an unfillable hole that he once sacredly filled. Let the angels play sweet songs with him and may his soul rest in eternal peace.
He will forever be missed and his loving spirit will be treasured always.
He is survived by his mother, Camela Suzanne Meade of Coralville and San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; his father, Charles George Sleichter III of Lake Arrowhead, Calif.; his sister, Caitlin Meade Sleichter, and her daughter, Emerson, of San Juan Capistrano; his brother, Garett Meade Sleichter, his wife, Tracy, and their children, Sienna and William, of Ladera Ranch, Calif.; and his grandmother, Shirley Sleichter of Le Claire.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia Ann (South) Meade and Eugene "Chick" Leo Meade of Iowa City; and grandfather, Charles George Sleichter II of Le Claire.
A memorial celebration in honor of Ryan will be Sunday, May 1, at Plaza de Magdalena in San Juan Capistrano. Services were arranged by Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, Iowa City. www.lensingfuneral.com
