Ryan, Lona Helen (Durey)

After her marriage, she was employed at several businesses in the Cedar Rapids area, most recently at the Overhead Door Co. in customer service. As a child, she enjoyed helping with chores and having fun with family and neighborhood friends. As a teen, she enjoyed youth activities, particularly roller-skating. Lona was impeccable with house keeping and yard work. She enjoyed dancing and eating out with friends.

Survivors include her three sons, Scott (Diane) of Marion, Steve of Cedar Rapids and Rusty “Ross” of Chicago.

Other survivors include two granddaughters, Leah and Laura Ryan; three sisters, Georgia Griffith of Normal, Ill., Dorothy “Bonnie” (Dick) Brondel of Hiawatha and Lucille (Grady) Zehr of Winfield, Ill.; a special brother, Allyn (Ilona) Durey of Manchester; and several nieces, nephews, relatives and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and an older brother, Glenn, in 1963.

Lona will be missed by her family and friends. Special thanks to Bonnie, Jeff, and Eleanor for their loving care.
