Ryan P. Dolan, (better known as Dolan), 36, died peacefully in the home of his parents, Tom and Pam Dolan, of Marion, on Saturday, March 28, 2015, surrounded by his family and friends. Funeral services: 11 a.m. Thursday, April 2, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, at the funeral home in Marion and one hour before the service at the funeral home on Thursday. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Ryan Patrick Dolan was born Nov. 21, 1978, and graduated from Cedar Rapids Washington High School in 1996. He was employed by Met Life of West Des Moines.
Ryan was an avid Hawkeye and Chicago Bears fan. He loved watching movies, cooking for family and friends and playing his guitar.
Ryan will be remembered for his love of making people laugh, stumping you with a movie quote, and especially for always being the one person you could count on "saving the day."
Ryan is survived by his parents, Tom and Pam (Hobbs) Dolan of Marion; former wife, Lisa Sadler Dolan, and two daughters, Kathryn and Elizabeth Dolan, all of Huxley; sister, Tonya (AJ) Sindelar, and brother, Jay (Cassie) Heller, both of Marion; "sister," Kristie (John) Bixler of Lisbon; and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, an uncle, and several aunts and cousins.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice Care Initiatives and University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics for the outstanding care they provided.
