Ruth Evelyn Smith, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, at Heritage Nursing & Rehab Center.
Funeral services: 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. A visitation will
be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ruth was born Nov. 4, 1930, the daughter of Elmer and Florence (Wall) Britt in New Market, Iowa. On Nov. 21, 1947, she married Robert Smith in Maryville, Mo. He passed away in 1978.
Survivors include two children, Robert (Pat) Smith and Dee (Don) O'Brian; five grandchildren, Robby (Pam), Rusty (Brenda), Nick (Michelle), Lindsey (Jay) and Ashley; six great-grandchildren, Ally, Lauren, Dalton, Gracie, Branden and Alex; many nieces and nephews; and four siblings, Deloris (Marvin) Thompkins, Marvin (Dorothy) Britt, Charlene Eighmey Glen and Dean (Charlotte) Britt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one sister, Maxine Wilcox.
