Ruth M. Popelka, 93, formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, July 28, 2018, at Millard Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Omaha, Neb. Services: Private.
Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her sons, Charles Jr. of Ottumwa, Iowa, Gary (Suzanne) of Chandler, Ariz., and Tim (Renee) of Omaha, Neb. She also is survived by seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a stillborn daughter, Alice Marie; her sister, Marguerite; and her parents.
Ruth was born May 18, 1925, in Marion, Iowa, the daughter of Max and Alice (Weaver) Sievers. She married Charles John Popelka on April 4, 1944, in Texas. Ruth was a bookkeeper for the Heabel Lumber Co. for many years as well as other various bookkeeping agencies.
