Ruth G. "Genny" Krohn, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Sept. 12, 2014, at Heritage Nursing and
Rehab Center, Cedar Rapids. Memorial service will be noon Saturday, Sept. 20, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, conducted by Jim Goodrich. Family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until service time. Private family burial will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, at a later date.
Survivors include her daughter, Linda Phillips of Hiawatha.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Dan; three brothers, Chuck, Roger and Keith; and one sister, Scharlene. Her son, Robert, died on the same day as Ruth.
Genny was born Jan. 29, 1931, in Benton County, Iowa, daughter of Fred and Martha (Williams) Schlotterback. She married Richard H. Krohn on Feb. 23, 1950. He later died in 2000.
