Ruth Annis Inlow, 99 1/2, of Anamosa, formerly of Coggon, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at the Anamosa Care Center. The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept.
20, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Oak Shade Cemetery, Marion.
Ruth is survived by her daughters, Elsie Henderson, Arleta (Everett) Moulden and JuaNita Borchardt; 15 grandchildren, Mark (Carol), Diane, Steve, Marty (Patty), Kevin (Debbie), Jamie (Patty), Lisa, Tina (Barry), Kent (Paula), Robin (Kelly), Doug (Diane), Valerie (Dave), Cindy (Randy), Tracey (Todd) and Rachel (Sarah); 33 great-grandchildren; 44 great-great-grandchildren; stepchildren, Tim, Homer and Bonnie; and many, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Horace Annis and Ray Inlow; son, Ronald Annis; granddaughter, Teresa; great-grandson, Jarad; and siblings, Bea Reed, Katherine Galloway, Jane Sankey and Willie Elloitt.
Ruth was born Feb. 17, 1918, in Missouri, the daughter of Walter and Bessie (Beauchamp) Elliott. On April 2, 1935, she was united in marriage to Horace Annis, and they resided in rural Linn County. He passed away July 13, 1983. Ruth later moved to Bowling Green, Mo., where she married Ray Inlow, who also passed away. She worked as a waitress at Barkers Cafe in Coggon.
Ruth was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion. She was a farmer's wife and loved to bake, embroider and sew.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Ruth's memory.
