Ruth Ellen (Storm) Nowadzky, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Hiawatha Care Center. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 6, Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 7, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Ruth was born April 22, 1930, in Wyoming, Iowa, the daughter of Elmer C. and Hazel (Brutsman) Storm. She attended Wyoming school 1-12, graduating in 1947. She married Leland W. Nowadzky on June 3, 1950; two children were born, Beverly Clymer of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Jerry (Sue) Nowadzky of Monticello, Iowa.
Ruth grew up on the Storm farm, also known as Storms Corner. Always present was the Green Barn landmark. She was an active 4-H member and worked at National Oats for 29 years. Ruth was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church for 50-plus years. Ruth loved cooking, gardening, flowers, crocheting, bowling and many more things.
Ruth is survived by her children, Beverly Clymer and Jerry Nowadzky; grandchildren, John Clymer Jr., Lori Clymer (Jason Thomas), Spencer (Judy) Nowadzky, Jessie (Brian) Dirks and Sam (Cam) Thomas; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Daisy, Johnny, Colton, Lane, Kaitlin, Lauryn, Rachel, Keegan, Isaiah, Hezekiah, Travis and Katie; great-great-grandchildren, Walter, Jack and Franklin Weaver; and siblings, Jean Stinocher and Robert (Shirley) Storm.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leland; siblings, Albert Storm and Mary Hunter; and son-in-law, John Clymer Sr.
