Ruth Anne Stacy, 81, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. In agreement with her wishes, cremation has taken place. On Saturday, April 1, 2023 at 2 p.m. a Graveside Service will be held at the Malvern Cemetery in Malvern, Iowa arranged by Peterson Mortuary of Glenwood, Iowa. A Celebration of Life and dinner will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Malvern Liberty Memorial Community Building, Malvern, Iowa.
Ruth was born on March 24, 1941, in Coburg, Iowa, the daughter of Carl Oscar and Bonnie Mae (Bishop) Anderson. She was a 1959 graduate of Malvern High School. On Dec. 12, 1959, Ruth was united in marriage to Keith Cody Stacy at the United Methodist Church in Glenwood, Iowa. The couple moved to Marion in 1984. She worked at Rockwell Collins as a Secretary for 17 years, until her retirement. Ruth earned an Associate’s degree and the Certified Professional Secretary certification while at Rockwell. Ruth enjoyed playing bridge, hand and foot, painting, and traveling, so much so that she had visited 47 of the 50 United States; Maui, Hawaii, was her favorite destination. She was a history buff, who enjoyed reading about and touring Civil War battlefields. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. Ruth will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ruth is survived and lovingly remembered by her children, Sherrill Anne Morrison of Marion, Iowa, and Scott Cody Stacy of Westminster, Md.; four grandchildren, Shawn Cody Stacy, Carolyn Ruth Stacy, Bonnie Anne (Jacob) Lieb, and Keith Irvine Stacy; brother, Albert “Frank” Franklin (Donna) Anderson; brother-in-law, Richard "Dick" Maiers; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Keith, in 2019; siblings, Mary Evelyn Anderson, Lois Mae Anderson, Jean Marie Jackson, Charles William Anderson, Carl “Lee” Leroy Anderson, and Emma “Alice” Irene Maiers.
The family would like to thank the Unity Point Hospice team for making Mom's passing as peaceful as could be.
