RUTH ALTERMATT

Ruth Marion Altermatt, 100, of Cedar Rapids, passed away, Monday, Dec. 29, 2014. Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, at First Lutheran Church. Visitation for Ruth will be one hour before the service at the church.
Ruth was born Sept. 28, 1914, to Carl G. and Elizabeth Hinz Schulz in Crystal, N.D. After graduation from Moorhead High School in Minnesota, she attended North Dakota State University. On July 1, 1940, Ruth married Clifford M. Altermatt in Moorhead, Minn.
Ruth was a member of First Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids since 1942. She was an active volunteer for 22 years in the Mercy Medical Center gift shop and was a member of PEO.
Ruth is survived by her cousins, Marcella Mackereth and Joanne Mair.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff; and her parents.
