Russell Wilkins, 82, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022, at the Hospice House in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 15 at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include, sons, Rodney Wilkins of Coggon, Iowa, and Troy Wilkins of Cedar Rapids; along with two grandchildren, Wyatt and Tucker Wilkins of Cedar Rapids.
Russell was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth and parents.
Russell Wilkins was born Aug. 16, 1939, to parents Clifford and Leona Wilkins in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. He married Elizabeth Dibble on June 28, 1969, in Cedar Rapids. Russell loved playing the trombone, which he did in his time in the U.S. Air Force Band, continuing later to play in the El Kahir Shrine band for many years. Russell's career was mainly in the security field. He enjoyed sporting events and travel with his family. Russell was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
