Russell Henry Romberg
Williamsburg
Russell Henry Romberg left this world peacefully on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the age of 94 years to join his beloved parents in the house of God.
Russell was born March 1, 1931, in Williamsburg, the son of Henry and Adella (Kleinmeyer) Romberg. He attended Williamsburg schools and lived all his life in the Williamsburg area. He served our country faithfully from 1952-1954. He farmed and worked at Landmark Truck Stop, the VA Hospital, Pioneer Seed Corn and later Kinze Manufacturing. Russell was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. He was an avid fan of Iowa and UConn women’s basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals. He spent most of his time taking care of his aging parents, who he was very close to. Russell walked the streets constantly, and was known and loved by many. He always had time to stop and talk to anyone, and will be remembered by all. Whenever asked how he was today, he always laughed and said, “Well, I’m still here.” Russell seldom missed a coffee date every morning at Colony Point and at Lillis Insurance. The town will dearly miss his smile and presence.
Russell is survived by a niece Donna Krebs; and a special friend Linda Romberg. He was preceded by his parents; a brother Truman Romberg and a sister Shirley Romberg Baack.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, February 13, 2026, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Williamsburg. Visitation will be on Friday, from 9:00 am until service time at the church. Memorials may be given to the Lutheran Interparish School. Messages and tributes may be left at www.powellfuneralhomes.com.
