Russell Grimm, 89, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away after a brief illness on March 9, 2017, at Pikes Peak Care Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Russell was born Oct. 9, 1927, in rural Millersburg, Iowa, to Harold and Clara (Erue) Grimm. He graduated from Millersburg High School and enlisted in the Army. He worked as a warehouseman in the plumbing supply field, retiring from Plumb Supply in 1989.
He was married to Dorothy McGillicuddy of Williamsburg and they resided in Cedar Rapids. They moved to Colorado Springs in 2008. He was an avid bowler and lifelong Hawkeyes fan.
Russell is survived by his wife, Dorothy; two sons, Larry (Donna) Grimm of Phoenix, Ariz., and Gary (Stef) Grimm of Bailey, Colo.; a daughter, Julie (Andy) Moran of Colorado Springs; two brothers, Norman of North English and Glenn of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
