Russell Vance Lovelett, 58, of 4513 Navajo Dr. NE and Columbia, Tenn., passed away Oct. 16, 2018.
Russ attended Jefferson High School where he participated in wrestling and football. Russ married Judy McVay in 1980. He worked for the city as a bus driver until his retirement. Russ loved hunting, fishing, the Chicago Bears and Iowa Hawkeye football and golf. He love spending time with his grandchildren.
Russ is survived by his sister, Lynda Randall, brother, Randy Lovelett, nephew, Paul (Teresa) Randall, and niece, Angie (Grant) Wilson, all of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; daughters, Amanda (John) O'Neal of Columbia, Tenn., and Jennifer Lovelett of Cedar Rapids; ex-wife, Judy Lovelett of Ely; and five grandchildren, John Russell, Payton, Isaac and Selah O'Neal of Columbia, Tenn, and Ava Lovelett of Cedar Rapids.
Russ was preceded in death by his daughter, Ashley Nicole Lovelett; and his parents, Robert Maxwell I and Shirley (March) Lovelett.
Russ will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, a GoFundMe page has been set up on Facebook.
A Celebration of Life will be held Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. at his Cedar Rapids home.
