Rupp, Martha M. 'Marti'

Martha M. “Marti” Rupp, 76, of 2717 Goldfinch Lane, Hiawatha, died Thursday, June 16, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Survivors include her husband, Nathan; two sons, Robert Waddell of Cedar Rapids and Shelly Rupp of Des Moines; four daughters, Lisa Noethe of Cedar Rapids, Heidi (Buck) Miner of Belle Plaine, Nicole of Cedar Rapids and Lori Cooperider of Washington, Iowa; a sister, Beatrice Bell of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, Ruben Rodriquez of Las Vegas, Nev.; and her two pet dogs, Pinky and Honey.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Brian.

Marti was born Aug. 7, 1934, in Roswell, N.M., the daughter of Margarito and Rosie (Morales) Rodriguez. She married Nathan B. Rupp on Aug. 7, 1976, in Davenport. Marti was a waitress at several local restaurants, most recently at Michael's Restaurant, where she worked for several years.

Marti enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, cooking and especially the time she spent with her beloved family and many many friends.

A memorial fund has been established in Marti's name.
