Rue, Richard Clarence
Richard Clarence Rue, 79, of Hiawatha, died Friday, April 12, 2013, at the Hospice House of Mercy. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday, April 27, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Harlan Gillespie, with visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. Richard has donated his body to the University of Iowa. Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, Cedar Rapids, is entrusted with arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Teresa (Tom) Lemon of Clarksville and Kevin Rue of Waterloo; special friend, Jennette McClurg; sister, Delores Stealy; and grandchildren, Aaron Lemon, Jared Lemon, Joey Rue, and Anna Lemon.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Betty.
Richard was born Aug. 11, 1933, in Waterloo and married Betty Ann Kusian in Parkersburg on Oct. 2, 1959. He owned and operated Action Past Control.
Richard liked to read nature and history books and spend time with his grandchildren. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict.
