Ruby Lovell Wethington, 71, of Stanwood, passed away July 28, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 31, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery.
Ruby was born May 5, 1946, in Center Point, Iowa, the daughter of James and Dorthy (Edaburn) Lovell. She graduated from Center Point High School in 1964. Ruby married Jack Wethington in 2005. She worked at National Oats, Kwik-Way and most recently at North Cedar Recycling in Stanwood. Ruby enjoyed hanging out at Thirsty on 30 with her friends. She loved her family very much and truly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and her great-granddaughter.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Jack of Stanwood; children, Ron (Annette) Lamphier of Vinton and Deb (Doug) Labs of Center Point; stepchildren, David (Lisa) Wethington of North Carolina, Robert Wethington of North Carolina, Wendy (Stewart) Davis of Anamosa and Brandon (Nicole) Wethington of Anamosa; brother, Don (Shari) Lovell of Shellsburg; sister, Dixie (David) Carothers of Hiawatha; father-in-law, James Wethington of Tipton; brothers-in-law, David (Janet) Wethington of Tipton, Mark (Terri) Wethington of Stanwood and Warren (Laura) Wethington of Tipton; 15 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Juanita Wethington; stepson, James Able Wethington; brother, Melvin Lovell; and brother-in-law, Neal Wethington.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to everyone at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
