Roy W. Mrstik, 90, passed away at the Northbrook Manor Care Center on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
A memorial service will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Monday, Aug. 15, 2022, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Pat Rieck officiating. Inurnment at a later date.
Roy was born on March 11, 1932, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He was the son of the late John Joseph and Ruth (Rosendahl) Mrstik. He served in the Air Force as a Airmen 1st Class during the Korean Conflict. On Dec. 23, 1953, Roy married the love of his life, Dorothy McGown, in Marion, Iowa. Roy worked as an auto mechanic for several dealers in the Cedar Rapids area until his retirement.
Those left to cherish Roy’s memory are his children, Roger (Penny) Mrstik of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Cheryl (Steve) Webb of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 10 grandchildren; and a sister, Betty Heeren of Marion, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his parents; his son, Mark Roy Mrstik; and a daughter, Beverly Batey.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Northbrook Manor Care Center.
