Dorothy Roy, a former resident of Cedar Rapids, passed away May 12, 2013, at her home at the Johnson Center in Centennial, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Roy; parents, Jerry and Jennie Jerman; brother, Jerry; sister, Helen Ramiriz; and several nieces and nephews.
She was employed at Wilson and Co. before retiring and moving to Colorado.
Dorothy was very active in Epsilon Sigma Alpha and was Iowa State president as well as international chaplain. She also was a member of Western Fraternal Association, Red Hat Ladies and the Friendship Club.
She was very active in her churches, St. Patrick's in Cedar Rapids and Holy Cross in Denver, Colo.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Anne Martin of Centennial, Colo.; nine nieces and nephews; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
A rosary was said May 19. Services were May 20 at Holy Cross Church, with interment at Highland Ridge Memorial Cemetery. A memorial service was held Saturday, June 15, for residents of the villages, where she had made her home.
