Roth, Warren 'Jockey'
Warren “Jockey” Roth, 90, of Tama, formerly of Luzerne, died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Grinnell Regional Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Burial: St. Joseph's Cemetery, Chelsea, at a later date.
Warren Wehrman Roth was born May 25, 1921, in Luzerne, to Adolph and Anna (Wehrman) Roth. He married Lillian Polka on Oct. 29, 1947, in Belle Plaine. In his youth, Warren was a racehorse jockey, and retired from Wilson Foods in 1983.
Survivors include daughter, Janice (Kelly) Kendall, and grandson, David, Luzerne; Warren's beloved companion of 32 years, Delores Rohach, Tama; Delores' family: Luann Kithcart, Toledo, Mike (Diana) Rohach, Garwin, Rick (Alicia) Rohach, Tama, and Nick Rohach, Tama; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Paul Polka, Tama; two nieces and four nephews.
Warren was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian in 1973; his parents; and brother, Lorraine, and sister, Marguerite, both in childhood.
Iowa Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
