Ross, Travis Lee
Travis Lee Ross, 20, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2012. Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel by the Rev. William B. Harnish. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday and after 10 a.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel.
Survivors include his parents, Travis Meiborg of Independence, and Amy Schmitt of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Nicholas Schmitt of Washington D.C., Spencer and Olivia Schmitt, both of Deltona, Fla., and Andrew, Autumn, Alexander and Abigail Meiborg, all of Independence; grandparents, Marty Ross and James and Kathy Meiborg, all of Cedar Rapids and Dave Schmitt of Swisher; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and his devoted dog, Elvis.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Matthew Schmitt; grandparents, Barbara Ross and Lorraine Schmitt; and great-grandparents, Norma Mathews, Geraldine Ross, Andrew and Roeberta Achenbach and Helen and James Meiborg.
Travis was born Feb. 25, 1992, in Cedar Rapids to Travis Meiborg and Amy Ross. He graduated from Metro High School in 2011. Travis loved spending time with his family, especially his grandpa, Marty. He was a St. Louis Cardinal and Miami Heat fan and liked going to Iowa and Iowa State Football games. He loved to read World War II history and to ride the bicycle trails.
