Ross E. Throlson passed away Dec. 26, 2014, in Des Moines.
Ross was born Sept. 9, 1929, to Henry and Ethel Throlson in Albert Lea, Minn., where he graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1947. Ross served in the U.S. Marine Corps from March 1948 to March 1952 and was in Korea from September 1950 until September 1951. Ross graduated from Dunwoody Institute in Minneapolis, and was employed at Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids, retiring in 1988.
Ross is survived by his wife of 60 years, Sharlyn Throlson; daughters, Dawn (Darrell) Bassett and Darcy (Randy) Lombard; son, Bret (Joni) Throlson; and grandchildren, Jason Throlson, Kelsey Lombard and Hilary Bassett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sons, Brian and Brad.
Private family services will take place.
