ROSEMARY EICHENBERGER
Atkins
Rosemary Marie Eichenberger, 69, died Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with the Rev. Jessica Crane-Munoz officiating. Interment will be in Raetz Cemetery near Atkins. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday.
A memorial fund has been established for Camp Courageous and Special Olympics.
Rosemary was born Feb. 7, 1946, in Iowa City, and her first home was provided by her loving adoptive parents, Dorothy and Carroll Hobson of Atkins. She would later reside at Woodward State School and finally at Systems Unlimited in Coralville.
Rosemary loved coloring, reading catalogs, everything green, especially anything about John Deere, music, coffee and her "Snoopy" dog. She enjoyed participating in Special Olympics and weeks spent at Camp Courageous.
She is survived by her niece and guardian, Diana (Dan Kibler) Hobson of Amana; nephew, Dennis (Amy) Hobson of Bellevue, Neb.; nephew, Scott (Sue) Hobson of Cedar Rapids; niece, Tammy (Todd) Wilson of Atkins; her special friend, Dorothy Wilson of Palo; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews.
Because of the loving care she received at Systems Unlimited, the staff became her family and her very best friends. Her family appreciates the compassion and loving care she received.
She was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, Dorothy and Carroll Hobson, and her brother, Jim Hobson.
