Rosemary D. Lyons, 91, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, at her home in Iowa City surrounded by family.
A Memorial Mass is planned for the spring of 2021 when family and friends can gather safely. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Iowa City Animal Shelter or to a charity of the donor's choice.
Rosemary was born July 12, 1929, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Dulcie (Burr) Dunn. She married Charles L. Lyons and they had four children: Michael, Toni, Mark and Jeffrey.

She had a passion for her roses and the flowers brought joy to friends and family she shared them with. She was also known for being a diehard Hawkeyes fan with season tickets to football and basketball for over 30 years. She also enjoyed playing bridge, reading books and margarita parties.
Rosemary loved the many dogs and cats she crossed paths with and had a special place in her heart for her furry companions Roxie and Sootie.
Rosemary is survived by her four children, Michael Lyons of Broomfield, Colo., Toni Lyons of Iowa City, Iowa, Mark (Carla) Lyons of Iowa City and Jeffrey (Emily) Lyons of Wilcox, Neb.; grandchildren, Timothy (Dawn) Lyons, Alicia (Short) Lyons, Joni Chantry, Keith Lyons, Danielle Lyons, Melina (Ben) Olerich, Christopher Lyons, Laura Lyons and Stephen Lyons; and great-grandchildren, Austin Chantry, Atalie Short, Tyus Short, Kynlie Short, Maeve Lyons and Aurora Olerich.
