Rosemary Christine Gorman of Cedar Rapids, IA died on August 2, 2025, at Keystone Cedars. A visitation for Rosemary will be held from 2 to 3 p.m., Friday, August 8 at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Entombment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Rosemary was born on July 10, 1934, in Iowa City, IA. She was born to Magdaleno and Maria Cano. She was the youngest daughter in the family of eleven children. Rosemary graduated from St Patrick’s High School in Iowa City and attended the University of Iowa. She was the first member of her family to graduate from college earning a BA in Spanish. During her college years she worked at the University of Iowa hospital and Mercy Hospital. In 1956, she moved to Cedar Rapids and was employed as a technical editor at Collins Radio. It was there she met her husband of 67 years, Ed. In July 1957, they were married and had two daughters.
Rosemary had a passion for gardening, flower arranging, completing jigsaw puzzles and shopping. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading, doing crossword puzzles and studying the Bible. She was an avid Hawkeye and Notre Dame fan.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her husband, Edward; her parents, her twin infant brothers; three sisters, Mary, Josephine, and Molly; brother, Bob and great-granddaughter, Maya Smith.
Survivors include her daughters, Christine Bogucki of Fridley, MN and Catherine (Jon) Petersen of Cedar Rapids, IA; grandchildren, Sarah (Kyle) Smith of Overland Park, KS, Paul Bogucki of Elk River, MN and John Bogucki of Minneapolis, MN; and great-grandsons, Mason and Noah.
Rosemary traveled through the states and abroad. Her favorite place was England where she loved seeing and touring the castles.
