Rosemarie Welton, 96, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024.
A funeral service celebrating Rosemarie’s life will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, January 11, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. Interment will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel Stateroom.
Survivors include her two sons, John Welton and his wife Martha (Marty) of Cedar Rapids and Joey Welton of Robins; three grandchildren, Earl (Leah), Leslie (Steve) Berger and James, great grandchildren, Dylan, Hudson, Oliver, Lucas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl “Lucky”, son Jeffrey Welton, daughter-in-law, Cathy Welton; brothers, John, Bill, Lyle, Leslie, James, Ralph Sienknecht, sister, Peg Dvorak; half-sisters, Violeta Sienknecht & Ada Krutzfeldt, and a half-brother, Lorenz.
Rosemarie Sienknecht was born December 5, 1928, in Tama County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Katie (Linder) Sienknecht. On August 15, 1948, she married Earl “Lucky” Welton in Cedar Rapids, IA. She was a homemaker, loved flowers and gardening and especially spending time with her family. Rosemarie will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
A memorial fund has been established.
