ROSEANN "ROSIE" (BOYLES) OLMSTEAD

Roseann "Rosie" (Boyles) Olmstead, 69, of Shullsburg, Wis., formerly of Shellsburg, Iowa, passed away following a brief illness on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Dubuque.
Rosie was born Aug. 21, 1949, to Howard and Gerry (Halgren) Boyles. Rosie attended Shellsburg Community School. She was united in marriage to Terry Schnoebelen on Oct. 28, 1967, and later married Bernard Olmstead of Wisconsin on Aug. 29, 1981.
Rosie is survived by her three children, Alan (Tara) Schnoebelen of Newhall, Angie (John) Bissell of Bethesda, Md., and Ronnie (Jenny) Schnoeblen of Center Point; her five granddaughters; four grandsons; her sisters, Beverly (Richard) Schwarting of Williamsburg, Marcia (Jerry) Cook of Urbana, Glenda Ferguson and Cheryl (John) Dlouhy, both of Marion, Dixie Bierschenk of Vinton and Joyce (Richard) Wyckoff of Urbana; a brother, Gary Boyles of Cedar Rapids; and a special friend, Robert McCrary of Shullsburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard; both parents; sisters, Rosemary Boyles and Bonnie Doehrmann; and a nephew, John (BJ) Cook.
Rosie was from a large family and enjoyed spending time with them at their annual family reunions. She loved the outdoors, nature and camping. She was a very caring and loving person and will be missed by her family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, at Erickson Funeral Home, 235 N. Judgment St., Shullsburg, with the Rev. Nick J. McElrath of First Baptist Church in Darlington, Wis., officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of services Saturday at the funeral home. A celebration of life will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at Urbana City Hall, 102 Capital Ave., Urbana, Iowa. Erickson Funeral Home in Shullsburg is serving the family.
