Rose, Vivian A.
Vivian A. Rose, 69, of rural North Liberty, died at her home on Christmas, Dec. 25, 2009. Vivian's request was for an informal gathering of family and friends to be held after her death. This will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, 2010, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in her memory to Iowa City Hospice, 1025 Wade St., Iowa City, IA 52240 or Kirkwood Community College Foundation, 6301 Kirkwood Blvd., Cedar Rapids, IA 52404.

Vivian A. Klaus was born June 5, 1940, in Iowa City, the daughter of George E. and Agnes B. (Maier) Klaus. Following graduation from University High School here in Iowa City, she went on to receive her B.A. degree from Stephens College in Missouri and her master's degree in education from the University of Iowa. She retired from Kirkwood Community College as Dean of Health Sciences after 35 years of service. Over the years Vivian received numerous recognitions, including the Kirkwood President's award, YMCA Tribute to Women and Industry, Outstanding Contributions to Youth of our Community and Outstanding Young Women of America.
She married her loving husband, Dennis R. Rose, on July 30, 1994. In addition to Dennis, her family includes her sister, Joyce (Eddie) Randleman of Payson, Ariz.; three stepchildren, Chris (Ted) Schaefer of Evergreen, Colo., Leslie (Jeff) Payden of Wisconsin and Michael (Jennifer) Rose of North Liberty; and six grandchildren.
