Rose, Stephen Gerald
Stephen Gerald Rose, 56, of Springville, formerly of Cresco, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, at his home. Funeral Services: 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 9, at Squaw Creek Baptist Church, Marion. Family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, and one hour before the service at the church.
Stephen was born Oct. 29, 1954, the son of Gerald and Arletta (Grimm) Rose in Cresco, Iowa. He graduated from Crestwood High School in Cresco in 1973. Stephen married Pamela Price on May 19, 1979. He worked for the City of Cedar Rapids for 14 years. Stephen gave his life to the Lord. He enjoyed traveling (especially to Galena, Ill.) fishing, hunting, landscaping and gardening.
Stephen is survived by his wife, Pamela of Springville; children, Andrew (Tiffany) Rose of Centerville, Ryan (Brooke) Rose of Marion, and Ashley (Mark) Luzinski of Springville; his parents, Gerald and Arletta Rose; grandchildren, Olivia, Lilly, Charlie, Hudson and one on the way; siblings, James (Tammy) Rose of Centerville, Sharon (T.J.) Shields of Lakeville, Minn., and Joseph Rose of Cresco; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Stephen's memory.
