Rose M. Peiffer, 83, of Cascade, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, Aug. 9, 2014. Friends and relatives of Rose may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 15, at Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, where a Cascade Legion Auxiliary service will be held at 3:30 p.m., and a wake service at 7:30 p.m. Services for Rose will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cascade.
Rose was born June 26, 1931, in Patch Grove, Wis., daughter of George and Margaret (Wallenhorst) Schroeder. On Sept. 28, 1957, she was united in marriage to Joseph Peiffer at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Dickeyville, Wis. He preceded her in death on May 17, 2012.
She was a member of St., Matthias Parish in Cascade, Daisy Card Club, Cascade American Legion Auxiliary and the Cascade Knights.
Rose was a wonderful mother and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was proud of her 10 children, 28 grandchildren and two great-grand-children.
She was an avid gardener and loved to play cards. She always put the needs of others ahead of herself. She was kind, loving, and compassionate to everyone, whether she knew them for a lifetime or just met them. Her faith and love of family was present in every day of her life. Rose was a beautiful woman inside and out.
She is survived by 10 children, Peggy Decker of Farley, Steve (Cindy) Peiffer of Cascade, Patsy (Tim) Ament of Gilbertville, Ron (Joyce) Peiffer of Marion, Ken (Shari) Peiffer of Dubuque, Gary (Jeanne) Peiffer of Troy Mills, Donna (Rod) Leonard of Strawberry Point, Doris (Gene) Porter of Monticello, Linda (James) Kremer of Cascade and Lisa (Dean) Oswald of Monticello; 28 grandchildren; two great-grand-children; a sister, Bernetta Cogan of Hazel Green, Wis.; a brother, Gerald Schroeder of Dickeyville, Wis.; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Delbert Kliebenstein of Belmont, Wis., Don (Agnes) Peiffer of East Troy, Wis., Mary Irene Peiffer of Onslow and Pat Peiffer of Minonk, Ill.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Joan Timmerman and Joyce Kliebenstein; five brothers-in-law, Joe Cogan, Joe Timmerman, Merlin, Nick and Herbert Peiffer; and a sister-in-law, Judy Schroeder.
