Rose Mary Choplick, 83, of Evergreen Estates I, Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2017, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy after a short illness. Services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church by the Rev. David W. Renfro. Friends may visit with the family Thursday after 10 a.m. at the church. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Rose is survived by two daughters, Janet (Douglas) Leonhart and Sandy (Dennis) Bruns, both of Cedar Rapids; granddaughter, Tammy Bruns of Iowa City; and grandson, Todd Bruns of Phoenix, Ariz.
Rose was preceded in death by her first husband, Eldon Huedepohl; her second husband, Andrew Choplick Sr.; and a brother, Wayne Hopp.
Rose was born Feb. 9, 1934, the daughter of Alfred and Josephine Hinchliffe Hopp, and attended Amana High School. She married Eldon Huedepohl on April 30, 1950. Eldon died on April 6, 1979. Rose married Andrew Choplick Sr. on May 30, 1987, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cedar Rapids. Andrew died on Feb. 24, 2012.
Rose enjoyed playing cards, taking walks, gardening, doing word find books and spending time with family and friends, especially her friends at Trinity Lutheran Church.
The family would like to thank all of Rose's caregivers at Evergreen Estates I and the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House, and her friends from the church.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.
