Rosalyn 'Tootsie' Hill
ROSALYN "TOOTSIE" (BUDDE) HILL Bellevue Rosalyn F. "Tootsie" (Budde) Hill, 87, formerly of Bellevue, died April 15, 2015, in Dubuque. A funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellevue. A visitation for Rosalyn will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Hachmann Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Bellevue and again Tuesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home. "Tootsie" was born April 3, 1928, in Bellevue, Iowa, the daughter of George F. and Matilida (Tillie Ries) Ernst. She graduated from St. Joseph's grade and high schools. She married Merrill G. Budde on Aug. 12, 1946. He died in 1979. In 1982, she married Ingman Hill. He died in 1988. In addition to giving birth to and raising 10 children, Tootsie worked at the Savana Army Depot, Xavier Hospital in Dubuque, Ensign Coil Co., Bellevue Liquor Store and Winn Dixie in Lake Wales, Fla. She was a longtime member of the Bellevue American Legion Auxiliary. She loved euchre, bingo, the slots and making baby quilts as gifts. For many years she put her heart and soul into her garden. While Tootsie will be sadly missed by her family, it will be impossible to forget the lifetime of memories, support, lessons and joy she shared on a daily basis with all who met and loved her. She is survived by sons, Dan (Suzie) Budde, Milan, Ill., Keith (Joyce) Budde, East Dubuque, Ill., and Mark (Lisa) Budde, Fairfax; daughters, Carol Willis and Jeannie Schultz, both of Dubuque, and Annette Budde, Phoenix, Ariz. Also, three sisters, Betty (Fred) Stoecken, Luella (Babe) Carter and Bonnie Blake, all of Bellevue. She had 21 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, three daughters, Mary, Janice and Judith Weis, and a son, Gary Budde.
