Root, Phillip J.
Phillip J. Root passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, after a short illness in San Pedro, Calif.
Phillip and his twin sister, Phyllis Flint, were born Nov. 6, 1937, to Ralph and Mildred (Myhlhousen) Root in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Phillip is survived by his children, Naomi, Natia and Mathew James; sisters, Phyllis (Kenneth) Flint, Marjorie (Terry) Edler and Nancy (Richard) Wise; and brothers, Victor (Waldtraut) Root and Clifford (Shari) Root.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Josephine.
A memorial service is planned at a later date. Burial will be in Los Angeles, Calif.
