Heaven received another angel - Ronda Malcom (formerly Hudson), 66, of the Lisbon/Mechanicsville area, passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 2016, at Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, after a very short struggle with cancer.
Ronda was born Oct. 11, 1949, to parents Edna and William Billman.
She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and daughter, but also a loving friend to everyone who knew her.
Ronda attended Lisbon High School and retired from Oral B/Proctor & Gamble of Iowa City.
Ronda is survived by her father, Bill Young of Cherry Ridge Assisted Living in Mount Vernon; her sons, David "Brian" (Jan) Hudson of Lisbon and Brandy (Tina) Hudson of Iowa City; a sister, Deb (Al) Forest of Cedar Rapids; a brother, Ken Billman of Cedar Rapids; a stepsister, Sandy Meyers (Don) of Fort Meyers, Fla.; grandchildren, Thad, Clay and Tawnie Hudson of Lisbon, Dustin and Blake McAfee of Mount Vernon and Allie and Kate Hudson of West Branch; nieces and a nephew, Stephanie Honn (Joe) of Ely, Nick Forest of Cedar Rapids, Jessica and Melissa Billman of Cedar Rapids, Kim (Brian) Peiper of Lisbon, Ryan (Jill) Gilmore of Hiawatha and Michelle Bradford of Cedar Rapids; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Edna Young; a sister, Linda (Larry) Hill of Cedar Rapids; two infant children, Jason and Angela; and a stepsister, Amy (Howard) Hemmer of Beloit, Wis.
Ronda enjoyed the outdoors. She loved working in her flower garden; she had a natural green thumb. She always loved camping with her family and she was an awesome cook. Ronda also loved her pets.
She was a friend to everyone she met, always there to lend a helpful hand.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Upon her request of no service, there will be a celebration of her life from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Gwen's Restaurant in Lisbon. A burial for family will be at a later date.
In loving memory of Ronda, memorials may be forwarded to Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha.
