Ronda M. Kratz of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, at the age of 70. She passed away peacefully with her husband of 47 years by her side. A celebration of life will be held later.
Ronda was born in Eldora, Iowa, to Robert F. Cowell and Edna G. (Aswegen) Cowell on May 9, 1950. She graduated from Central City High School in 1968. She married Lee C. Kratz on Sept. 22, 1973, at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa.
Ronda had an in-home daycare center for almost 30 years. She enjoyed antique shopping and gardening. She most cherished spending time with her grandchildren, Ashlee, Cooper and Campbell.
Ronda is survived by her husband, Lee; daughters, Alysia (Andrew) Sprague of Marion and Teresa Kratz of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Rebecca Beck of Central City, Robert Jr. (Rita) Cowell of Georgia and Cynthia (Richard) Yoder of Marion; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Sr. and Edna Cowell; and a sister, Nancy Vargason.
Ronda was a loving wife, mom, sister and grandma. She was not a person who liked attention but was attentive to each person in her life. She made people feel loved and valued.
In lieu of flowers or monetary contributions, reach out to the people you hold dear to your heart and create lasting memories together. When our time on earth is done it will be those memories to cherish forever.
