Ronald Wheeler, 80, longtime resident of Marion, died Saturday, June 7, 2014. A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, Marion, on Thursday June 12, at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Vicky Standley. The family will greet friends one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be held at a later date at Center Friends Cemetery, Newton, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.
Survivors include his wife, Marian; children, Pam (Bruce) Proctor, Sun Lakes, Ariz., Barb (Boyd) Potter, Marion, Mike (Noelle) Wheeler, Mumbai, India, and a special daughter, Lidia Tokuda, Maryland; 10 grandchildren, Jason (Heather) Potter, Maple Bluff, Wis., Kyle (Nicole) Proctor, Midland, Mich., Matt Proctor, El Paso, Texas, Charles (Stefanie) Potter, Marion, Bart (Krissie) Wheeler, Allen, Texas, Josh (Meredith) Wheeler, Fort Worth, Texas, Rebecca (Sam) Wheeler, Dallas, Texas, Stacy (Shawn) Vaughn, Lakeview, Minn., and William and Jacqueline Wheeler, Mumbai, India; and a brother, Richard (Pat Gill) Wheeler, Champaign, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Judy Bump.
Ronald was born Feb. 16, 1934, Newton, Iowa, the son of Clifford and Irene (Koder) Wheeler. He married Marian Baldwin on Aug. 24, 1952, in Newton,
Iowa. Ronald was a 32-year employee of Rockwell Collins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Unity Point Hospice, Cedar Rapids or First United Methodist Church of Marion in Ronald's memory.
