Ronald "Ron" Schwandt, 70, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2014, at his home in Norway. Services:
10:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, St. Michael's Catholic Church, Norway, with the Rev. Craig Steimel officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.
Ron was born Dec. 12, 1943, in Earlville, Iowa, to Emil and Imogene Powell Schwandt.
Survivors include longtime companion, Ellen Czarnecki; son, Terry (Michelle) Schwandt; daughter, Teresa (Brian) Elam; Tony (Jill) Emanuel and Michael (Dionne) Emanuel; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Gary (Marsha) Schwandt; and sisters, Jean Leaf and Barb (Gerald) Moser.
Ron retired from Whirlpool and enjoyed driving trucks, most recently for Frese farms. He was an outdoor enthusiast and active in FTS memorial rides. He loved spending time with his family and his cats.
