Ronald Earl Falconer, 81,
of Coggon, passed away Thursday, Aug. 4, 2016, at his home. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at Coggon Cemetery, Coggon. Military honors provided by American Legion Post 362 in Coggon.
Ron is survived by his children, Douglas (Suzie) Falconer of Oklahoma City, Okla., Karla Frazier of Cedar Rapids, Lori (Jeff) Blaha of Coggon and Michael Falconer of Coggon; five grandchildren, Owen, Whitney, Brent, Rachal and Brittney; seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; and four sisters, Lois Price, Beverly Pruess, Jackie Carpenter and Deb Morrissey.
He was preceded in death by parents; his wife, Barbara, on April 27, 1993; a brother, Yale; and a grandson, Jared.
Ron was born Sept. 19, 1934, in Ryan, the son of Earl and Mary (Flannigan) Falconer. Ron served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict. On Sept. 16, 1956, he married Barbara Buckner. Ronnie was employed at Wilson's Meat Packing Plant for 29 years and also owned the Coggon Locker for several years. He was a Union representative while at Wilson's.
A memorial fund has been established.
