Ronald Doyle
RONALD JOHN DOYLE
Oro Valley, Ariz.
Ronald Doyle entered eternal life on Dec. 28, 2021, unexpectedly, after suffering from a massive stroke while visiting his son and family in Nevada.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Carole; brother, Pat; mom, Elaine; and dad, Mark.
His spirit is carried on by his children, Chris and Jill; grandchildren, Jake, Molly, Thomas and Carly; surviving brother, Steve; and extended friends and family from all over the globe.
Born June 9, 1948, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ron spent his adolescence in Ryan, Iowa, and his teenage years in Anaheim, Calif., followed by a four-year Navy deployment. This evolved into a 16-year career in the CIA and NSA as a linguist (five languages) and cryptologist. He married Carole Fontz in 1971 and the newlyweds were stationed in Kinshasa, Zaire, for their first two years. They welcomed Jill in 1975, and the family of three moved to Damascus, Syria, for two years. When Chris arrived in 1979, the Doyle's embarked on a three-year assignment in Alexandria, Egypt. Tegucigalpa, Honduras, was their last stint in 1984/85.
In 1986, Ron retired from the government (GS-14) to settle down and be a part of the family business, Foam Distributors, established in Northern California by his father. Ron remained in Dublin, Calif., for 33 years until Carole passed of ovarian cancer in April 2020. He then went to live in Arizona with his daughters family. Carole said it best "To know him is to love him." Ron Doyle was an earth angel, who looked at the bright side of things, saw the good in people and embodied a well-lived life, every day. His legacy will not be forgotten.
