Ronald LaVern Atkins, 79, of Clarence, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar
Rapids. Me-morial services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Clarence United Meth-odist Church. Pastor Carol Mart will officiate. Burial: Clarence Cemetery. Visitation: 10 a.m. to service time at the church. Arrangements by Chapman Funeral Home, Clarence.
Born Nov. 22, 1934, in Tipton, the son of Darrell and Mary Margaret "Peg" (Hodson) Atkins, Ronald married Corrine Bachman on Dec. 26, 1954, in Clarence.
Ron was a past member of the Jaycees and member of the IOOF, Clarence United Methodist Church and the Brown Mug Club. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, playing cards, softball, bowling and golfing. Ron also loved big band era music.
Survivors include his wife, Corrine; son, Robin (TaraLynne) of Clarence; daughters, Ann (Cary) Branch of Dallas, Texas, and Arlene (Steve) Lyon of Olin; five grandchildren; and three great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.
