Ron Lee Sherman, 58, of Amana, died at his home on Thursday, Dec. 10, 2015. Funeral services: 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, with Leah Watkins officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 13, at the funeral home.
A memorial fund has been established.
Ron is survived by his wife, Linda; a son, Jacob Sherman of Cedar Rapids; parents, Lyle and Ruby Sherman of Amana; a sister, Lynda (Matt) O'Brien of Tukwila, Wash.; a brother, Doug (Jaime) of Iowa City; other children, Nathan VonLienen of Marengo, Brittney (Reggie) Musack of Marengo and Heather (Travis) Wilming of Cedar Rapids; and six grandchildren, Emma and Aubry VonLienen, James and Hunter Musack and Olivia and Easton Wilming.
Ron was born May 11, 1957, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lyle and Ruby Sherman. He graduated from Amana High School in 1975. He married Linda VonLienen on April 10, 2009. Ron had a very strong work ethic and was a supervisor at Wendler Construction. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a fabulous husband, father and story teller. He especially loved spending time with his family, the children and grandchildren.
