Arametta J. Romine, 75, died peacefully Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at Northbrook Manor Care Center, Cedar Rapids. Iowa. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 9, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Urbana, with Father Ardel Barta officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point. Burial: St. Mary's Cemetery, Spencer Grove, Iowa.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years, James; sons, James of Pleasant Valley, N.Y., and Joseph of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Matthew (Jerry) of Tyler, Texas, and John (Ruth) of Cedar Falls; sisters-in-law, Vera Maughan of Des Moines, Esther Brunt of Oskaloosa, and Donna Romine of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
Arametta was born Dec. 22, 1936, in Leon, Iowa, the daughter of Clyde and Helen Maughan. She was a graduate of Leon High School in 1954, and attended the University of Iowa with a music major. She later taught music at Keota, Van Horne and Urbana. She was a long time P.E.O. Chapter LI member. She proudly served on the Center Point Library board of trustees for 25 years.She loved her Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers.
Instead of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Center Point Library Building Fund.
