Roman, Steven
Steven Roman, 47, of 321 Fifth St. NW, died Saturday, April 9, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital after a sudden illness. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Patti; a stepdaughter, Andrea (Jeff) Slaymaker; a stepson, Nathan Farmer; and his father, George, and stepmother, Cecelia, all of Cedar Rapids; four sisters, Susan (Tom) Roeder of Iowa City, Deborah Roman of Marion, Diane Holt of Davenport and Nicole (Marco) Garcia of Cedar Rapids; five stepgrandchildren; and his dog, Pugs Magoo.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a brother, George; and a sister, Rebecca.
Steve was born April 9, 1964, in Cedar Rapids, the son of George and Lavida (Mundy) Roman. He married Patti J. Farmer on Sept. 29, 1996, in Linn County. Steve worked in shipping at Electro-Coatings for several years.
He was a member of American Legion Hanford Post 5 and proudly served in the Army during Desert Storm. Steve enjoyed animals, long walks, playing golf, reading, listening to music and traveling with Patti.
Steve was a wonderful son, husband, father, and brother who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A memorial fund has been established in Steve's name.
