Roland, Joanne Marie

Joanne Marie Roland, 80, of Moraga, Calif., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died at her home on Friday, March 19, 2010, after a short illness. Services: 4 p.m. Friday at the Noelridge Christian Church, Cedar Rapids. The Rev. James Cotten will officiate. Inurnment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday where there will be an Eastern Star Service held at 5:15 p.m. by Malta Chapter.

Survivors include a daughter, Michelle (Chris) Hoff of Orinda, Calif.; three sons, Russell (Norma) of Cedar Rapids, Randall of Grapevine, Texas, Martin of Hiawatha; and a sister, Mary Martin of Omaha, Neb.

She is also survived by four grandchildren, Annalisa, Katherine, Victoria and Andrew.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Joanne was born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Des Moines, the daughter of Russell and Doris Dutcher Haas. She married Kenneth L. Roland on April 6, 1951, in Des Moines. He died in 1997. Joanne was a homemaker and a charter member of Noelridge Christian Church. She was a very creative and compassionate lady. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, bowling and especially time spent with her many friends and beloved family.

A memorial fund has been established in Joanne's name.
