Rogers, Jayne L.

Jayne L. Rogers, 49, of rural Iowa City, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, at the Iowa City Care and Rehabilitation Center after a lengthy battle with Huntington's disease. A gathering for family and friends will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Family committal services will be held Wednesday at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Iowa City.

Jayne Lynette (Jack) Rogers was born June 27, 1962, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, daughter of Stan and Sharon Jack. She graduated from high school in Cedar Valley, Utah. On Jan. 4, 1985, she married the love of her life, Kevin Rogers, in Coralville. Jayne worked various jobs throughout the community but spent most of her time at home raising her boys.    She was a caring and loving mother to two boys, Brandon and Colton, and was always supportive of them, especially when it came to their athletics. She was always there, no matter the sport or the city. She also enjoyed time spent cooking, watching movies, listening to music and playing pool.

Her family includes her husband, Kevin; sons, Brandon (Katie) Rogers of Portland, Ore., and Colton Rogers of Iowa City; parents, Stan and Sharon Jack of Arizona; mother-in-law, Marjory Rogers of Iowa City; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Brittany; and father-in-law, Robert Rogers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jayne Rogers Memorial Fund.
