Rogers, Floyd
Floyd Rogers, 90, of Monticello, died Friday, June 3, 2011, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Monticello, with interment in Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev. Reed Stockman will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 7 p.m. today at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; son and daughter-in-law, Ron and Linda Rogers of Cedar Rapids; daughter and son-in-law, Evelyn and Jim Buol of Atalissa; stepchildren and spouses, Marty and Sue Miller, Trudy and Joel Wilson and Donna Davis; two granddaughters, Dawn Bouzek and Stephanie Fickel; stepgrandchildren, Dan, Lori and Jim Buol; great-grandchildren, Drake, Jordan and Blaze Bouzek, Jack and Ellery Fickel; eight stepgrandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; a stepgreat-great-granddaughter; brothers, Ervin (Edith) and Harland Rogers; a sister, Vera Fortmeyer; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Bill and Pat Weeks, Alice Pratt, Marge Thaden, Murl and Anita Weeks and Judy Weeks; and many nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Violet; son, Robert; three brothers, Dale, Martin and Roy; sister, Edna Ostrander; granddaughter, Debra Rogers; and a stepgreat-grandson.
