Richard “Dick” G. Rogers born at home, on a farm, in Farley, Iowa, on July 12, 1941, died on Sept. 22, 2022, at age of 81.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at a later date in Monticello, Iowa, with burial in the church cemetery.
Dick was the son of John and Ruth (Greif) Rogers. He was raised on a farm and educated at Sacred Heart School, graduating in 1959, in Monticello. Following three years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Texas, Georgia, Alaska and New Mexico, as a military policeman; he was employed by AT&T for 36 years in various capacities in Baltimore, Md., Allentown, Pa., and Orlando, Fla. His favorite assignment was being a member of the Speakers Bureau.
He was united in marriage to Loretta A. Costello on July 16, 1966, at St. Matthews Church, Baltimore, Md. He loved working with wood, and really enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and to Europe. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching college football.
Dick is survived by his wife, Loretta; son, Marc (Ara) Rogers of Lake Mary, Fla.; sisters, Joan (Michael Ford) Capoferri of West Chester, Pa., Alice Denniston of The Villages, Fla, and Melanie (Duane) of Pella, Iowa; and one granddaughter, Carolyn Rogers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ruth Rogers.
